Friday, August 15thInformal get-together for dinnerWell, we originally were going to get someplace like Dodge City or the Nomad for this informal event, but they both washed out. The Dodge City cafe, evidentially, is not open for business currently - they wouldn't say why. The Nomad seems to have converted their meeting room over to extra bar space since last we visited, so they had no space but the front diner - hardly conducive to talking and reminiscing. Since we already made arrangements with the C&D Drive-In for Saturday morning's informal get-together, that left us with only the Riverfront Lodge as a place that serves dinner and would be able to reserve a section for us to use. For those who didn't even know it existed, the lodge is located out at 6 marine Dr. Also, their number is 541-481-6800. Game plan was this: For those who live local, or were already going to be in town by Friday evening, if you wanted to go out for dinner and meet up with some classmates, we'd be there from around 6:00 PM until whenever everyone leaves, with a "feel free to come & go as you please" atmosphere. They have a bit higher-end menu than we're use to seeing in Boardman, and the prices reflect it. The pasta dishes are $10 & $11, the poultry is $10-$14, the pork $14-$19, the beef $15-$22, and the seafood says ask for selection. The deserts are $5 & $6, and even the beer and wine look a bit high priced, for the desert, anyway. BUT, you didn't have to come for a meal, if you didn't want - just come and visit with old friends... A special thanks to Robb Peck for those wonderful name tags...
If you have any other pictures, send them and we'll post them as well... |
