Classmate Update
I am married to Ed Baker. We met my senior year in school. We have now been happily married for 18 1/2 years. One of the best things I ever did was to say "Yes" I only wish I would have said it sooner! We have two children Caleb 8 and Faith 4. We live in Welches, OR. One hour east of Portland and 20 min from Timberline Lodge on Mt Hood. We have 1 acre in the woods which gives us room for my horse named Music. A previous owner named my horse but her name is very fitting for our family. My husband is very musical, drums and some guitar, and we met while I was singing in a choir. Ed currently plays music for the college group and His work background is graphic designing and printing. I would describe my occupation as Homemaker, Homeschool teacher, Data Base secretary for the school district's Talented and Gifted Dept., and Data Base designer. I also try to find time for other hobbies like my horse, sewing, family history albums to name a few. After school I attended Ecola Hall Bible School in Cannon Beach, OR. Then I lived in Salem with my Grandmother and worked at a telephone answering service. I moved to Portland to be closer to Ed and worked in the packaging department of a satellite antenna company. Ed and I were married December 1984 and I got a receptionist job at a dog and cat boarding kennel. I worked at the kennel for 8 years and sometimes took reservations for Riverside High graduates. It was a little surprising to discover that the "stranger" on the other end of the phone wasn't a "stranger" after all. I quit working at the Kennel to teach Creative Memories photo album classes. When Caleb came along it was enough to just be Mom and run the household. Then there was building our house and Faith came and 2 years ago I had TMJ jaw surgery which I'm still dealing with. We've also been able to do some traveling along the way. Which is giving our children an interesting view of the world. Well, hope to see you at the reunion. Denice Brownlee Baker
